Building on this plan, LAUP is bringing resources together from across the county in support of early childhood education.Research shows that children who attend quality preschool programs are more likely to succeed, in school and beyond, than those who do not. Currently in Los Angeles County, only half of our four-year olds have access to any preschool at all. LAUP is funding the creation of new high-quality programs in areas that need them most and providing new resources to existing programs to help Improve quality. LAUP is proud to be working in partnership with government and the private sector to address community needs.
Parents of children in LAUP classrooms can feel confident that their four-year olds are in preschool programs that have been evaluated for quality. LAUP carefully reviews teacher qualification, class sizes and adult/child ratios, and the environment in which our children explore and learn.
